the night when everyone you loved came…
I started this post at least twenty times, trying to find my way in. Trying to encapsulate the evening. The standing room only. The great applause. The cupcakes, cookies, and pumpkin bread arranged on crystal. The laughter. The hugs. The tight, tight hugs. How do you articulate love like this? I’d be criminal to attempt it. What I will say is that last night yet again proved that my friends are my family, and my father is the greatest man of all. I’m privileged to be surrounded by such loving, insane, beautiful, brilliant people. I love you all. Thank you for your tireless support - you foxy cheering squad, you.
Tonight: I’ll be chatting with Kristen Chase, 9pm EST
Tomorrow (2.7.08): I’ll be at reading at Powells in Portland. Trying desperately not to buy the requisite suitcase worth of books. Update: Thanks to all who showed up! I heart you Laurel & Lisa! Dave Weich and Kevin Sampsell are total rockstars. All of you make leaving Portland very, very difficult.
Saturday (2.9.08): I’ll be reading at the very revered Elliott Bay Bookstore in Seattle
Please come! Bring pets! Loved ones! Buy Sky!

That sounds like a wonderful celebration! Mmmm… cake.
Am very jealous of you going to Powells. You have to buy a few books - it’s research!
