style coalition’s top secret photo shoot…

Launching a non profit and writing from home takes it’s toll on me sometimes. Much of my day is spent alone, or on Skype, or prepping for afternoon meetings and evening events. After fourteen years of working in an office environment and feeding off the frenetic energy of my coworkers, growing accustomed to this new life of solitude and an unstructured day is tough. I need to consistently energize, refocus, and remind myself that I’m reaching my goals with the passage of each day. So when Yuli Z & Michael Pratt of the Style Coalition presented a unique opportunity for me to participate in a photo/video project with other fashion and style bloggers, I leapt out of my chair. I love collaborative art; I feed off the energy of talented, smart, strong women, so I was thrilled to a part of this very special and auspicious project. More info on the project will be released soon, so stay tuned!

Anyway, I received the first images from my top-secret photo shoot, and I’m thinking that the “before” look actually suits me more. It’s more realistic of how I look everyday – minimal makeup (actually I’m sans makeup in the before photo), sporting a comfortable t-shirt and dark denim jeans. Don’t get me wrong – it’s nice to be fancy and fabulous, but at the end of the day, I’m still a creature of comfort.
