Holiday Gems: for under $100!

Crystal Ball Earrings You need only to flip through a glossy to know that jewelry is on of the most fashionable and economic ways to upgrade an outfit. Freshen up a tired blazer and skinny jeans with a glinting pair of crystal earring. Sport a striking pendant on top of a simple, luxe James Perse cashmere tee. Lately, I’ve discovered jewelry – the kind that one can reasonably affordable – in a significant way. From scouring NYC street vendors in Soho to display cases in J.Crew and Banana Republic, I’m seeking necklaces and earrings that are highly original. Because if I’m wearing the sweater everyone’s coveting, at least I can make a bold statement with a heft of crystal adorned against my skin. These are the kind of jewels that catch the light, but are friendly to your purse strings.

So imagine how elated I was to discover Objects d’envy’s Modern Sparkle line. Crafted from fine Swarovski crystals, all the pieces in designer Kristen Goede’s line are part art, part glam – perfect for day with an easeful transition to evening. These are delicate pieces for the girl who wants a little sparkle. Featured in the Wall Street Journal, Stacy London’s What Not to Wear, WWD, The Chicago Tribune and gushed over by top stylista blogs such as Second City Style and Smashing Darling, among many other publications, Goede – a noted scholar with a MFA from Boston University cum glam girl – has found that her eclectic, sweet collection has developed quite a cult following. And make no mistake, the wears absolutely are worthy of such attention.

Lavaliere Cluster Necklace The Chrystal Ball earrings (soon to be priced at $98) are my absolute favorite of the collection. Measuring three inches long, and multi-colored, these are the kind of gems you want to be wearing come holiday parties. And for the price-point, I was presently surprised by the great quality of the earrings. Another pick is the Lavaliere Cluster Necklace ($70), which comes in 13 different colors. The crystal is eye-catching and luxe, however, I will be honest and relay that the chain appeared a little limp, easy to break. However, chains can always be replaced – it’s the jewels that need to look their best.

In short, peruse the site to locate your favorite hand-crafted crystal jewels. I already know that when Sky debuts in theaters and I’m on some random carpet, being kicked over by way more important people, I definitely will consider Goede’s original pieces.

Is it bad if I want the Lavaliere Cluster Necklace in every color? Well, I guess that’s not bad as long as I don’t actually buy it in every color! Yours was SO gorgeous, glad you don’t mind me knocking off your style.
