and the beat goes on!
Yep, that’s me, reading at the Harvard (Harvard!!) Bookstore this past Monday. I must confess that I was a smitten kitten when my cab first pulled into Cambridge and I saw the grand campus. It envelopes you. And I suddenly felt nostalgic, wanting a “do-over,” wanting to be that kid with a backpack, a baseball hat, and a flannel shirt. That time when you’re an adult but not really. Although I’m in a terrific place in my life right now, part of me wonders: if only…
But I digress. Lots of wonderful things are going on for my little book that could! I’ve got a slew of upcoming readings (please come!), and lovely Bitch Magazine, The Brooklyn Rail, and The Washington Post Book World (not a rave, but quite nice) reviews, as well as a sweet interview with Amy, the proprietor of MomAdvice. So much more to come.
I realize that it’s March and my book may feel like old news, but please! please! please! secure your copy today. Email your friends! Buy one for mom (let her know you’re glad she’s not that horrible)! Also, if you review books for your foxy, popular blog, you know of folks who’d love to cover it for any kind of media (online/off), or if you read The Sky Isn’t Visible from Here and dug it enough to pimp it on your blog, MySpace, Facebook, Goodreads, LibraryThing, what have you, help a woman out. Because it’s hard out there for a small publishing pimp.

Wow–I hadn’t checked out your press links in a while. Sincere congratulations on all the great press!
Thanks for the link to Amy’s site. She and I go back to our early days in blogging, so it was cool to be reminded of her great site.

congratulations on your book readings and success! i have told many of my friends about your book (and long ago wrote up a little review on my blog…)
on the sentiment of your post, despite my own admittedly good-place life at the moment, sometimes i too wish for a ‘do-over’ (and i went to harvard the first time around…) i wish to live life without regrets, but sometimes that’s hard, in the face of reality and the scars that it can leave.

I heart you so much!! I just wish you would come to Dallas. I would tackle you this time. (I completely resisted the urge to do so at BlogHer.)
Your book is incredible. I loved every single page of it as I devoured it. Thank you so much for writing it!
