wonderful author Victoria Redel writes in about Kevin Bacon’s adaptation of her haunting award-winning novel, Loverboy. Redel gives the indie flick a firm thumbs-up and encourages all movie lovers to come out and show their support. This was truly an
independent film-made on a truly independent film budget with the support of an awesome cast ( Kyra Sedgewick, Marisa Tomei, Matt Dillon, Oliver Platt, Sandra Bullock, Cambell Scott, Blair Brown and Kevin Bacon). They all took a risk with the material-not any kind of sure Hollywood bet.
i simply adore Redel’s short stories, poems and her mesmerizing first novel. the flick opens 6.16.06 and i encourage folks residing in nyc, la & philly to check it out. i’m so there.
