the day that moroccanoil changed my lifestyle
Moroccanoil Changed My Lifestyle! from Felicia Sullivan on Vimeo.
Over spiced feta and creamy hummus, my friend Amber, genius manipulator of the English language and purveyor of all things beauty, urged me to sample Moroccanoil; it would change my lifestyle, she incanted. I was rapt with attention, because when Amber tells you to put something in your hair, you do it. No questions asked. So for the next fifteen minutes I proceeded to interrogate her, Cold War-style, about the products. If they worked on her fine blond locks, how they could possibly hydrate my mess of coarse curls?! HOW COULD IT BE, I shouted, waving pita? Amber assured me that moisture and hair repair was possible.

Products featured in the video:
•Moroccanoil Treatment ($39, 3.4oz): has the unique quality of instant absorption into hair, creating an instant shine and long term conditioning without leaving an oily residue. Infused with Argan oil, which is known for restoring shine to hair, this formula also strengthens and softens brittle locks. By promoting healing and providing nourishment, this treatment is gentle enough for even the finest hair, but intense enough for thick, unmanageable hair. In addition, the oil treatment creates a balance for hair and scalp. My stylist and I used a quarter-sized portion on wet hair prior to heat-styling. So although the product is at a higher price point, a little definitely goes a long way.
•Moroccanoil Intense Hydrating Mask ($31, 8.5oz): is intensive care for stressed or damaged hair. A rinse-out, deep conditioning treatment, which doesn’t require twenty minutes of heat-drying torture, the Hydrating Mask restores shine, manageability, and health to your hair.
Moroccanoil can be found in fine salons nationally. Click here to locate a salon near you.

I’d love to try that!! But I don’t have a salon nearby.
Hopefully they’ll sell online someday…

Have you considered the Keratin treatment? I had it done while in florida a couple of weeks ago and love it! My hair has more shine, is 200% softer and easier to manage and my curls are still there, just softer. The treatment will not change the chemistry of your hair, it’s not a chemical process. Keratin is what hair, nail and skin are made of, so the process is like putting a layer of hair on top of your hair, but somehow it makes it softer – eliminates Frizz. Of course, it washes out over time and you have to get it done just about every three months – totally worth it. Only drawback is how the hair smells when you shampoo and the fact that you have to use Sulfate Free shampoo afterwards – this was very hard for me, but L’Oreal just launched a Sulfate Free line that is actually very good (this after I spent a fortune at Ulta purchasing other products). You should give it a try.

Cynthia – Thanks for the note and for visiting!!! Regretfully, I am very much against Keratin treatments for the following reasons:
1. There is absolutely no long-term evidence to show the affects of Keratin on one’s hair.
2. I love the flexibility of my hair, and the ability to wear it curly/straight whenever I choose.
3. My hair is incredibly healthy, and it’s due to the fact that I trim it often, it’s virgin (no chemicals or processes) and I use good products in my hair.
4. It’s way too expensive.
5. Many of my friends have tried Keratin, and their hair curled in approximately 6 weeks.
I don’t think you need incredibly expensive treatments to have healthy hair. So sorry! but I’ll never be sold on these kinds of treatments.
Warmly, f.
