covet this: fresh’s cannabis rose perfume
A week ago, I ventured out to Red Hook to hear my dear friend Katy Brennan read an essay from the new anthology, Dirt: The Quirks, Habits, and Passions of Keeping House. I envy Katy, because every time I see her she’s impossibly chic, impeccably dressed, and smells of a bohemian rose garden. Finally, I bit the proverbial bullet, pulled her closed, and demanded that she reveal her fragrance du jour. Apparently, my question wasn’t an odd one, for other friends had been stalking her in an effort to steal her signature scent. After a bit of medieval torture (kidding!), Katy revealed her sweet secret: Fresh’s Cannabis Rose. The next day I raced to Sephora, and paused. Much to my chagrin the beautiful glass bottle and the delicious, heady fragrance within, was a hit to my fixed-income wallet ($75). I texted Katy that I would have to hock an organ in order to purchase the perfume, but in the end I settled for gathering samples from every Sephora store I could locate.
Simply put, the perfume is beyond delicious. This sensual, bold scent is for the strong, yet feminine woman who wants to smell crisp, fresh (pardon the pun), but wants her scent to be infused with a hit of drama. Bulgarian roses infused with pomegranate flower and Italian bergamot are the perfume’s top notes, while a lush mix of cannabis accord, sheer jasmine, and rich dark chocolate, combined with white musk, render this an irresistible fragrance.
Every time I spritz Cannabis Rose, my friends (much like the Katy Brennan experience) inevitably lean in and query: What are you wearing? Because I. Want. It. So, if you want to invest in a divine scent, this is the one to covet.

Amber – thanks! I love it so much but can’t afford it so samples are the best way to go for now.
